Dr. Kerns earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Iowa. He graduated from the University of Iowa College of Medicine and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Dr. Kerns moved to the Quad-Cities and joined Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialists, P.C. in 1977, following completion of his residency.
Dr. Kerns and his wife have five sons. The youngest two are twins. His interests include family, reading, swimming, and antique automobiles.
