Carolyn K. Martin, M.D., was raised in a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. She attended Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, where she earned her Bachelors degree in Chemistry and English. She then returned to the Midwest and graduated from the University of Iowa College of Medicine in 1998. In 1992 she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, also at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

After a year working overseas in Oxford, England, Dr. Martin joined Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialists in 1994. She works part-time in order to enjoy more free time at home with her family.
