Meet Our Nurse-Midwives
Kimberly K. Sprague, C.N.M., M.S.N., attended Palmer College of Chiropractic after high school, receiving a chiropractic technician’s degree. After starting her family, she earned her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Marycrest International University, specializing in obstetrical nursing. Kimberly then attended graduate school, receiving her nurse-midwifery degree from the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing. She completed a Masters in Nursing Research degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Kim lives on an acreage and enjoys horseback riding, dog training, gardening and being a grandma.
Beth N. Carlson, C.N.M., M.S. grew up in the Quad Cities. She attended Truman State University, in Kirksville, Missouri and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 1998. After graduation, Beth practiced as a Registered Nurse in labor and delivery at Trinity Medical Center. She returned to school and earned a Masters of Science, specializing in Maternal-Child Nursing, from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2000. Beth had been practicing as a Certified Nurse-Midwife in Rock Island until she joined Obstetrics & Gynecology Specialists, P.C. in August, 2002.
Beth enjoys spending time with her children, her husband Josh, and their friends and family. In her free time she loves to ski, travel, and just relax and enjoy life.
Pam A. Thorpe, C.N.M., M.S.N. lives in Dubuque, IA and commutes to her position here in the Quad Cities. She began her RN vocation in1985, and has focused virtually her entire career in family centered nursing.
She received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Dubuque in 1996, and Master’s Degree of Science in Nursing through Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI in 2004. Prior to joining the Group, she worked three years in women’s health care in Davenport.
Pam’s belief in patient education has been emphasized by teaching prepared childbirth classes for over ten years, and serving as a clinical instructor for OB nursing students.
She is married to Monte, and their blended family includes five children and a golden retriever. Time away from work is spent bicycling, cross country skiing, boating, and almost any outdoor activity. She also enjoys reading, and loves to cook, as well as eat!
She thoroughly enjoys caring for women throughout the lifespan.

Rachel O’Hanlon, CNM, ARNP attended University of Illinois, receiving a bachelor’s degree in English. After graduation, she worked for several years in public relations, and started her family. Rachel returned to school after her children were born, attending Trinity College of Nursing in Rock Island. She worked as a labor and delivery nurse while attending the Midwifery Institute of Philadelphia University, where she also received her Masters of Science in Midwifery. She has been practicing midwifery in the Quad Cities since 2006.
Rachel’s areas of interest include nutrition, exercise and stress management.
